Bloom settled down in one of these places: the Gunpowder Factory of Barcarena. In the ruined Steam Factory building, among the industrial ruined equipments, nature took place and grew in the form of trees and other wild vegetation. Walls and pavements were gradually and totally covered.
In the 10 ruined rooms, 10 new gardens were designed by a group of artists,
who created new environments melting different artistic languages with
nature itself.
These gardens will be once again changed on their appearance by the presence
of performances and workshops.
Reflecting and questioning these facts, the International Bloom Seminar
intends to present, discuss and exchange experiences on the relation between
art and landscape.
Bloom - art and ephemeral gardens is on its first experimental edition in 2005, and wishes to become larger, stronger and regular.
